Capt Arumugam Muthuraman was commissioned into the Indian Navy on 07 Aug 1995. Having joined the Education Branch of the Navy, the officer has carried out many important instructional and training assignments in various training establishments of the Indian Navy.
The officer has been an instructor in Mathematics and Economics at the erstwhile Naval Academy at INS Mandovi and served as Deputy Registrar at Indian Naval Academy at Ezhimala. The officer has also carried out various educational duties at Unit and Command Headquarters levels, including as Officer-in-Charge of naval schools located at various stations. The officer has served two tenures in Naval Headquarters during his career span of more than two decades. As Director Naval Education and Secretary of Navy Education Society, the officer was responsible for administering 11 Navy Children Schools and 60 other naval schools in the Navy.
Besides other mandatory In-service courses, the officer had attended Defence Services Staff Course and Naval Higher Command Course.
