CHANDRAYAAN 3 activities held at Sainik School Nagrota as part of the CHANDRAYAAN 3 mission success celebration, the school organised an Outreach Program through the young children of the neighbourhood studying in the Primary Wing.

Short video clips on CHANDRAYAAN 3 were shown to them.





The inter house quiz competition on space was conducted in the School Auditorium for the academic session 2023-24. The theme for the quiz was “Chandrayan-3”. All the four Houses namely Sindh, Chenab, Trikuta and Jhelum participated, with each house represented by four cadets.
Shri B R Chibber and Shri Kundan Kumar conducted the Quiz competition. Shri S K Dhasmana and shri Vivek Kumar assisted as Stage Officials.


As part of the ongoing Chandrayan 3 Success celebrations at Sainik School Nagrota, Cadet AdarshChoudhary of Class X presented a brief on the evolution of Indian Space Program on 29 Jan 23. The presentation brought of the significance of India’s Space Mission especially Chandrayan 3.

In addition, Poetry Recitation on the Theme of Tiranga was held. Cadet Nivriti Namya presented a poem describing the glory of Tiranga hoisted on the Moon.






As part of Chandrayan -3 Celebrations, a short documentary on the 'Lunar Touch down of Chandrayan -3' was screened at Sainik School Nagrota on 11 Dec 23.

Since the rover Pragyan has rolled out on the moon's surface, various observations have been made in pursuit of lunar secrets at the South Pole.

Here is the list of findings made on the Moon's surface so far:

  1. Temperature recorded on the Lunar surface.
  2. 4-meter diameter crater on Moon's surface.
  3. Elements on the moon.

The students showed great interest and were really happy and motivated to see the scientific advancement and development.



The space craft Chandrayaan-3 is made up of paper by the cadets of Sainik School Nagrota. The design of Chandrayaan – 3 is a Moon mission, India’s mission to the moon, will soft land on the Lunar Surface.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientists have modified the systems in the Chandrayaan -3 after learning lessons from the crash landing. The landing was expected to take place at 06:04 Pm (IST). Indian will be only the fourth country to reach the moon after the US, China and Russia. The Chandrayaan -3 has two main parts: the propulsion module and the lander rover module. The propulsion module’s primary jobis to transport the Lander Rover Pragyaan to the Moon.



To celebrate the success of Chandrayaan 3, on 28 Nov 23 the cadets created a selfie point with a captivating backdrop of Chandrayan in the night sky which became an instant attraction in the campus.



A captivating poetry writing event was recently organized for the enthusiastic students of Class VII as a part of the Chandrayan-3 initiative. The central theme for this creative endeavor was "Tiranga," invoking a sense of patriotism and national pride.
The event commenced with an inspiring introduction highlighting the significance of the Tiranga (Indian tricolor) and its representation of unity in diversity. Students were encouraged to express their thoughts and emotions through poetry, weaving verses that echoed the spirit of the tricolor. They presented their beautiful poems and really enjoyed themselves.



To celebrate the success of Chandrayaan 3, a lecture was given by Geography teacher Sh. Rajvinder Singh TGT Social Science of Sainik school Nagrota for Cadets of Classes IXA and IXB about Space on 21 October 2023. Cadets were told about different layers of atmosphere, outer space and about space exploration.



A Presentation on the topic "Eminent Personalities of Indian Space Programme" was conducted for class X cadets at Sainik School Nagrota on 13 October 2023, during which cadets of class X prepared as well presented the PPT to their fellow cadets on Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, Dr Vikram Sarabhai, Dr Kasturirangan, Dr K Sivan and Dr SP Somnath.



To connect with Chandrayan-3 Success Celebrations-2023, an Intra Class English Declamation Competition on 'India on Moon' was conducted at Sainik School Nagrota on 12 October 2023. Cadets of Classes X-A & X-B participated in this activity.



In celebration of ISRO's success story of Chandrayaan -3 a Poster Making Competition was organised at Sainik School Nagrota on 25 September 2023 in which Cadets of Class VII, VIII and IX showcased an amalgamation of creative skills and knowledge about space science.
