Date: 31 July, 2025:
In a meaningful celebration of the nationwide campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, Sainik School Nagrota organized a sapling plantation drive within the school campus, bringing together generations for a greener tomorrow. The event saw the active participation of senior citizens residing on campus, who were specially invited to plant saplings and bless the occasion with their presence.
Adding youthful enthusiasm to the event, the newly inducted cadets of Class VI assisted the senior citizens during the plantation and also planted saplings themselves. This intergenerational collaboration made the occasion deeply symbolic, linking the wisdom of the elders with the promise of the young.
Capt (IN) Shibu Devasia, Principal, addressed the gathering and motivated the cadets to take personal responsibility for the saplings they planted. He encouraged them to nurture and care for these plants as long as they remain a part of the school, thus cultivating a sense of ownership, care, and environmental responsibility among the young minds.
The event was also graced by the presence of the Vice Principal, Administrative Officer, and other Academic and Administrative Staff, who collectively contributed to the plantation effort.
In his concluding remarks, the Principal expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the senior citizens for gracing the occasion and inspiring the cadets with their presence and blessings.
This initiative beautifully echoed the spirit of the campaign—honoring the nurturing nature of mothers through the nurturing of trees—and reaffirmed the school’s commitment to environmental consciousness and community bonding.
