Nagrota, August 02nd, 2024:
Sainik School Nagrota proudly inaugurated the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign with an Introductory Ceremony, marking the beginning of a nationwide tree plantation drive. This noble initiative aims to promote environmental sustainability and honour the spirit of motherhood. It is heartening to note that a number of parents of Class VI new entrants of the school joined the campaign on the inaugural day and planted trees along with their wards in the campus.
Capt (IN) Shibu Devasia, Principal of Sainik School Nagrota, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of this campaign. He urged all staff and cadets to participate wholeheartedly, highlighting the goal of creating a clean and sustainable environment for future generations. The campaign, initiated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on World Environment Day, seeks to encourage tree plantation as a tribute to the love and care of mothers.
The "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign exemplifies the commitment of Sainik Schools to environmental sustainability and honouring motherhood. Sainik Schools will actively participate in this drive, with the goal of planting 35,000 trees across 33 Sainik Schools and 42 PPP Model Sainik Schools by 15th August 2024 making a lasting impact on the environment and communities. Sainik School Nagrota has been designated as the Nodal school for ensuring the implementation of this campaign by all the aforementioned schools.
The successful completion of this campaign will contribute not only to ecological balance but also to instilling a sense of responsibility and environmental stewardship in the young minds of our nation. Each tree planted stands as a living tribute to our mothers, symbolizing love, care, and nurturing the very qualities that trees embody in nature.
