🏆 ALL INDIA SAINIK SCHOOLS NATIONAL GAMES 2026 — GROUP ‘A’ 🏆
Six Days. Eight Schools. One Spirit - Excellence through Sports. The All India Sainik Schools National Games 2026 (Group 'A') commenced today at Sainik School Nagrota, bringing together young sportspersons from eight Sainik Schools and affiliated institutions for six days of competition, camaraderie and sporting excellence.
The opening ceremony was graced by Maj Gen Paramvir Singh Dagar, SM, VSM, Chief of Staff, 16 Corps & Chairman, Local Board of Administration (LBA), as the Chief Guest.
The ceremony began with an impressive March Past, followed by the Oath-taking Ceremony, during which participating players pledged to uphold discipline, fairness, integrity and the true spirit of sportsmanship.
Addressing the young athletes, Maj Gen Paramvir Singh Dagar emphasised that sports play a vital role in shaping confident, disciplined and resilient individuals. He highlighted the importance of teamwork, leadership, perseverance and respect for opponents, and urged the participants to give their best while enjoying the spirit of healthy competition.
Captain (IN) Shibu Devasia, Principal, Sainik School Nagrota, warmly welcomed the participating teams, officials and distinguished guests. He expressed his gratitude and pride at the honour of hosting the National Games and assured all participants that the school would leave no stone unturned to provide a well-organised, enriching and memorable experience for every contingent.

The young participants will compete in Basketball, Volleyball, Athletics, Debate and Quiz, in Boys and Girls categories across Sub-Junior (Classes VI-VIII) and Junior (Classes IX-XI) age groups.
Beyond competition, the National Games provide a vibrant platform for young cadets to develop discipline, leadership, teamwork, confidence and resilience-values that lie at the heart of the Sainik School system.
The championship will culminate on 05 September 2026, with teams eying for the coveted Championship Honours.
