A Day of Inspiration, Recognition & Institutional Growth at Sainik School Nagrota: GoC 16 Corps Inaugurates New Sports Facilities & Confers Medallions for Distinguished Service
Sainik School Nagrota witnessed a significant milestone in institutional development with the visit of Lieutenant General P K Mishra, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, General Officer Commanding, 16 Corps, who inaugurated the newly constructed Synthetic Tennis, Volleyball, Basketball and Badminton Courts at the school. Mrs Archana Mishra, Zonal President, AWWA 16 Corps, also graced the occasion.
The visit underscored the close association between the Armed Forces and Sainik School Nagrota and provided an opportunity for cadets to interact with and draw inspiration from senior military leadership.
A key highlight of the visit was the presentation of the GoC's Medallion for Distinguished Service to four employees of Sainik School Nagrota in recognition of their exemplary service and contribution to the institution. The recipients were Shri Sandeep Kumar, Senior Master & PGT Chemistry; Shri Saroj Kumar Thakur, Lab Assistant; Shri Mahendra Singh Chauhan, PA to Principal; and Shri Chunni Lal, GE (Mason). Their recognition highlighted the vital contribution of the school's civilian staff towards academic excellence, administrative efficiency and infrastructure development.
The school magazine 'The Chinar' was also released on the occasion. The newly inaugurated sports facilities will significantly enhance the sporting environment at Sainik School Nagrota, providing cadets with better opportunities for systematic training and competitive preparation. The initiative reinforces the school's emphasis on physical fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship and holistic development.
