Nagrota, 22nd August, 2024: :Sainik School Nagrota marked its 55th Raising Day with a series of events that resonated with pride, camaraderie, and enthusiasm. The celebrations commenced with a solemn wreath- laying ceremony at Shaurya Smarak, where floral tributes were paid to the fallen heroes, honoring their supreme sacrifice.

A special morning assembly followed, graced by the presence of Captain (IN) Shibu Devasia, the esteemed Principal of the school. During the assembly, Captain Devasia took the opportunity to recognize the unwavering dedication of the school's teachers, administrative, and general duty staff by presenting them with Certificates of Appreciation. The assembly also witnessed a spectacular display by the School Band, led by Band Captain Cadet Deepak, which added to the grandeur of the occasion.

Post the assembly, the spirit of camaraderie was palpable as cadets and staff engaged in a friendly volleyball match. The entire school community gathered to enjoy the thrilling Inter House Tug of War competition, which was met with great excitement and cheer.

The school was further honored by the visit of Brigadier GS Shan, President of Nagrota Ex- Students Association (NEXAS), the alumni association of Sainik School Nagrota, accompanied by senior Nagrotians. After formally inaugurating the alumni web portal on the internet, as a gesture of motivation and encouragement, Brigadier Shan felicitated cadet achievers in academics and sports.

In addition, NEXAS conducted a Dental Check-up camp for the cadets, ensuring their well- being, and contributed to the school's green initiative by planting saplings near Trikuta Hostel inside the school campus under the Campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”. A total of 500 saplings were planted at the school as part of this National Campaign.

The evening session provided a befitting conclusion to this momentous day. The entire school community gathered at Maj Somnath Sharma PVC Stadium to participate in fun games and enjoy an exciting cultural program. The traditional cake-cutting ceremony, led by the Principal, the School Cadet Captain, and the youngest cadet, symbolized the unity and shared joy of the day. The celebration culminated with a community feast, where the bonds of the Sainik School Nagrota family were further strengthened.

The 55th Raising Day of Sainik School Nagrota was a testament to the rich heritage of the institution and its commitment to nurturing future leaders of the nation.
